“Unimaginable” by Jeremiah Johnston

“Unimaginable” was very insightful, well researched & thought provoking. To imagine a world without Jesus Christ & Christianity is a very horrifying proposition. Jeremiah Johnston does a fantastic job of showing everyone how incredibly terrible the world would be without Christianity. It is a world that I am extremely grateful we didn’t experience. I would highly recommend “Unimaginable” to everyone. I learned many interesting facts from a writer that did a great deal of hard work, research & wrote a great book!”

“Blind Spot” by Dani Pettrey

“Blind Spot” is a great book from cover to cover! Dani Pettrey really kept my attention throughout the book. I wanted to find out what was going to happen next! I really like the characters & enjoyed following this story. I highly recommend this book for all fiction readers. I think all of the Chesapeake Valor series books would be awesome books to read.

Crown of Souls

Crown of Souls is an awesome book that I highly recommend! If you are interested in military books or know someone that is interested in this genre, this is a book you must buy. Cole Russell & his team have some page-turning adventures. I enjoyed this book about his team so much that I am going to read more of Ronie Kendig’s books from Bethany House. Having grown up as an Army child, Ronie connects with the culture. Ronie gets the special forces world & has sources that help her write outstanding books which keep your interest from beginning to end!

The Assault

The Assault is written by four leading Christian fiction writers. The writers are Bill Myers, Frank Peretti,  Angela Hunt and Alton Gansky. In Bill Myers’s “The Revealing,” the team finds themselves in search of a spear that Adolph Hitler once stole. In Frank Peretti’s Infestation, there is a microscopic plague that is unleashed on the world. In “Infiltration” by Angela Hunt, a seaside vacation turns deadly as the trust of the team is misplaced. In “The Fog” by Alton Gansky, there is a deadly fog that can only be stopped by entering into it.

This series is very unique in that four different writers are writing stories that all blend together into one bigger story. There is a lot of action, suspense and drama. If you enjoy reading Christian science fiction, the Harbinger series and Assault is a book you should check out and read.

Dark Deception is great!

Dark Deception is a great non-fiction book! It really kept my attention as I followed the story of Kate O’Brien and Deputy Marshall Tony DeLuca. I wanted to keep reading and see what was going to happen next. This is the second of the Defenders of Justice series by Nancy Mehl, but it isn’t necessary to read the first book in the series to understand the background. Nancy Mehl gives enough background to catch your interest and make you want to read other books that she writes. I highly recommend Dark Deception! You will be glad you took the time to read Nancy Mehl’s books.

Read this Outstanding Book by Dee Henderson!!

I recently read another great book by Dee Henderson! Dee Henderson is a great writer of Christian mystery books. Her O’Malley collection books are awesome & were fun to read. This book is a different genre of mystery books than the O’ Malley collection books, since it is a Cold Case book. Both type of mysteries are great! In Threads of Suspicion, I wanted to see what would happen in the end & who committed the crimes. I would highly recommend any Dee Henderson books! She will keep your attention. You will want to see how the story plays out. It isn’t usually how you would think it would end. Ms. Henderson is an excellent fiction writer. Check out all of her books!

Busy Life

We live in a very busy world. There always seems to be something to do & no time to rest. But God demonstrated that rest is appropriate & right. If God Himself rested from His work, we also need rest. Jesus Christ also demonstrated this principle when He & His disciples left in a boat to get away from the crowds. Our times of rest refresh us for times of service for God.

“The heavens & the earth & everything in them were completed. By the seventh day God completed His work that He had done & He rested on the seventh day from all His work that He had done. God blessed the seventh day & declared it holy, for on it He rested from His work of creation.” (Genesis 2:1-3)

The Obedient Sacrifice

Abraham gave us one of the greatest stories of obedience in history. He traveled three days to Mount Moriah in order to obey God. Over the years Abraham had learned many tough lessons about the importance of obeying God. Being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac was prompt & complete.

Obeying God is often a struggle because it may mean giving up something we truly want. We should not expect our obedience to God to be easy or come naturally. But anything we give up is nothing compared to what God has done for us. We can never fully repay Jesus Christ for what He gave up on the cross for us. (Genesis 22:1-19)

Jesus is Our Light Through Tough Days

To walk safely in the woods at night we need a flashlight so we don’t stumble over tree roots or fall into holes. In this life, we walk through the dark woods of evil. But the Bible can be our light to show us the way ahead so we won’t stumble as we walk.

The Light revels the entangling roots of false teachers, false values & false philosophies. Study the Bible so you will be able to see your way clear enough to stay on the Good path. There is only one way to walk through the dark woods of evil. Jesus is The Way, The Truth & The Life. One way to Heaven…One path that shows The Light…It is Jesus.

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet & a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

Wake Up Sleeping Church of America!!

There is a lot of discussion in this country about what we should or shouldn’t do, can or cannot do, who we should love or not love, etc. How about Christians be the Believers we should be & the Church be what the Church is commanded to do in the Bible?

We are in the mess we are in because too many people went to Church & the messages didn’t flow through the fabric of their lives. The American Church as a whole dropped the ball for the last 60 years. Now we see a result of the Church not being the Church. Christians being Christians 75, 50 or 10% of the time, etc.

Yes, many have done a lot. Given a lot. Served a lot. But all certainly haven’t been “all in.” Not even close. How many are all in now as compared to the 60’s when everything unraveled at the seams? A lot less now than then & therein lies the problem.
Until the sleeping Church wakes up, it will continue getting worse. We need to get in the game, God’s game, & do more than be spectators in the pews & pulpits.
